Abdulwahab Mohammad Hussain Nassrullah Marafie

1903 – 1963

Born in Alwassat neighbourhood, at the age of 10 his father sent him to India to learn English and Indian Languages, business administration and accounting. He was one of those first Kuwaitis who studied English language in India. Not only did he control his father’s trade, he even carried out correspondence with English translations. After returning to Kuwait he worked in Kuwait Oil Co. Ahmadi, as an interpreter. Later he joined Customs Department.
